Project Vietnam was founded in 1996 as an International Medical Assistance Program of the American Academy of Pediatrics California Chapter 4. Because of continued growth, it became Project Vietnam Foundation in August 2007, a not-for-profit organization recognized by the IRS.
For almost 14 years, the volunteers of Project Vietnam have visited under-served areas Vietnam, from northern highlands to the flooded plains of the Mekong delta, serving ethnic minorities & poor families at remote rural locations. We bring health care to the needy through surgical corrections for children with birth deformities and eye defects, medical exams and treatment to villages and schools, and training to health personnel at all level of the medical system, from villages to hospitals and academic centers.
